Neurosurgery and Spine

At the 3rd Edition of the International Neurology Conference (INC 2025), neurosurgery, also known as brain surgery, is a very specialized surgery involving the spinal cord, brain, and related nervous system. It includes general neurosurgery to address trauma and emergencies and specialized fields like oncologic, pediatric, and spinal neurosurgery. This covers all disorders throughout the nervous system. Neurosurgical advancements, including minimally invasive techniques and robotic-assisted procedures, have significantly improved patient outcomes and recovery times. The spine is one of the most critical aspects of the human body as it serves as a preventive support to protect the delicate spinal cord, which in turn prevents any potential injuries. The relay of signals in both directions, that is, between the brain and different body parts, is also regulated by the spine, allowing the transmission of neural signals. Consequently, any dysfunctions or disruptions in the spine can lead to adverse neurological consequences, stating its critical role in overall health.
